Ethos and Values
At Harris Academy Falconwood we believe that education always wins.
Harris Academy Falconwood has always placed a strong emphasis on our values of ‘serve - support - success’. We believe these values help us ensure that our young people leave their time with us believing that education is the most powerful tool they possess. We help them have happy and fulfilling lives as human beings.
Over the past three years we have redefined what success means to us and our community. Success means to serve our community and our young people with ambition: ambition in our curriculum; ambition for what our young people can achieve; ambition for life-long success and ambition for what great human beings and adults they naturally grow into. When the world sometimes seems to say ‘no’ to education, we always and wholeheartedly, say ‘yes’ to education.
Our support is personalised to an individual’s need. We know that there is no sticking plaster or one-size-fits-all approach in our model of success; no child is left unprepared for the wider-world.
At Harris Academy Falconwood we believe strongly in our three core values of Serve, Support, Success.
SERVE
We have built a caring and inclusive community where our students serve themselves, each other and our local community.
SUPPORT
We support our students throughout their time with us, equipping them with the tools and knowledge they need to achieve their future dreams and aspirations.
SUCCESS
We pride ourselves on providing our students with a strong academic foundation to ensure they have success in their chosen path. Our students leave us with strong academic qualifications, a currency that opens doors to their future choices.
BRITISH VALUES
Harris Academy Falconwood actively promotes and practises acceptance and engagement with the fundamental British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs; the students develop and demonstrate skills and attitudes that will allow them to participate fully in and contribute positively to life in modern Britain.
We enable students and staff to develop their self-knowledge, self-esteem and self-confidence as well as encourage them to respect each other and other’s opinions. We encourage an understanding of right and wrong, taking responsibility, how we contribute to society and being tolerant of each other and our cultural traditions. This is further promoted in our Academy Assemblies, during Morning Read and in embedded across our Curriculum as a whole.
