Sixth Form Admissions
Important Dates for the application process
Open Evening
Thursday 3rd October 2024 4:30pm - 7pm: Open Evening for Year 11 students and parents/carers to view our facilities, find out about our A-level and CTEC courses offered and meet staff and current students. There is no need to book for this event, please just come along from 4:30pm, last admittance is 6:30pm.
There are two different routes to apply for current Harris Academy Falconwood students and for external students:
Harris Academy Falconwood students application process
- November 2024 - December 2024: Application form
HAF students will meet with senior staff to discuss applying for Sixth Form. If they want to apply students will complete the application form in school, with their initial subject choices.
- January 2025 - March 2025: Conditional offers
Conditional offers will be made via email, students must accept to continue the process. Students must check their school email account.
- March 2025 - May 2025: Follow up meetings
Follow up meetings will be held in school with some applicants, after their mock exams, to refine their subject choices.
External students application process
- November 2024 - March 2025: Application form
External students will complete the application form on our website with subject choices.
The online Application form will open after the Open Evening event.
Closing date for applications is 31st March 2025.
- Mar - Jul 2025: Conditional offers
Applications will be processed and students will receive one of the following decisions:
- Conditional offer, students must accept to continue the process.
- Interview invitation, after which a conditional offer may be given.
- No offer, we will let you know if no offer can be made.
Taster Days
July 2025: Taster Days will take place after all GCSE exams. Students who have received a conditional offer will be invited to experience a day at our Sixth Form and try taster lessons. These days are by invitation only.
Enrolment
Thursday 21st Aug 2025 Morning: GCSE results day. Current HAF students will collect their results and those who have met the conditions of their offer will enrol with a member of staff in the morning.
Thursday 21st Aug 2025 Afternoon: External students who have met the conditions of their offer will bring their documentation and results and enrol in the afternoon.
Note conditional offers are only valid on this day, we will not hold a space open for you if you do not enrol on this date.
Friday 22nd Aug 2025: Students who have not met the conditions of their offer can attend in the morning, their results will be reviewed to see if they can be enrolled on other courses. Students who have not been made an offer but meet our minimum entry requirements can also attend in the morning. Remaining places will be offered on a first come first served bases.
Waiting List
After enrolment has closed, we will operate an online waiting list. Students who wish to be considered for a place must complete the waiting list form. We will contact you should a place become available.
